Plus-Sized Modeling Mag Slams Fashion Industry For ‘Anorexic’ Models With Shocking Photos

A magazine devoted to plus-sized models and fashion is bashing the mainstream fashion industry for using underweight models and failing to represent the average, healthy woman properly – even with plus-sized models.

PLUS Model Magazine recently published a shocking photo feature, showing the startling difference between the naked bodies of a plus-sized model and a regular ‘straight-size’ model.

In the scandalous photo feature, size 12 model Katya Zharkova is depicted in various poses, with shocking statistics captioning the images.

“Most runway models meet the Body Mass Index physical criteria for Anorexia,” one reads.

“Twenty years ago the average fashion model weighted 8% less than the average woman. Today she weighs 23% less,” another states.

The editorial claims that the average plus sized model at most modeling agencies, fluctuates between a size 6 and 14, while ten years ago, they averaged between size 12 and 18!

“Not everyone is meant to be skinny,” editor-in-chief Madeline Figueroa-Jones explains in the article. “Our bodies are beautiful and we are not talking about health here because not every skinny person is healthy.'

Breaking News! Goldie evicted from Big Brother Africa!

After holding on strong for 68 days, Nigeria’s last standing contestant in Big Brother Stargame, Goldie, has been kicked out.
The 28-year-old entertainer was evicted on Sunday, July 15, 2012, during the weekly eviction show.
Goldie, who was nominated for evicted on Monday, July 9, 2012, got the least of the 15 votes, following Lady May, who had three and Prezzo, who had six.
Minutes before the show, the Nigerian singer predicted her exit, telling Biggie that she would have loved to spend her last three hours in a good mood with her lover, Prezzo, but for some reason, felt it wouldn’t happen. ‘I would have wanted it to be different. I don’t think I will make it. I pray I do, but for some reason, I know I won’t make it‘, a sad Goldie said, after a fight she had with Prezzo over a missing ring, which he claimed was his grandmother’s.
An unhappy Goldie refused Prezzo’s demand for a hug as she walked out of the house in tears.
With this development, Nigeria is now out of the game, as the other two housemates, Ola and Chris, voluntarily left the house on Friday, May 18, 2012.

Goldie and Prezzo had a fight in bed

despite a long beautiful day and the recent colorful moments they had together.
They were known and referred to as the on again/off again because of their unsettled relationship but recently the couple confirmed that they were serious this time. Prezzo confirmed to Africa that he and Goldie were in serious love and expects no fight anymore.
However, late in the night as other Housemates were in their dream lands, the couple had a verbal fight which took some good time. The quarrel escalated from Prezzo refusing to eat the food Goldie had taken to him while in bed.
Prezzo said that he was not going to eat Goldie’s food because she had minimized him a few moments back. According to the rapper, he said that after he was done with the chopping of his fries, he wanted Goldie to assist him prepare them and she did but with a sad face.
Prezzo added that when he had moved upstairs, he heard Goldie telling one of the Housemates whom he didn’t recognise that she has to do everything for Prezzo especially in this time when they are up for evictions. Prezzo said that he heard and was hurt by this phrase from her woman whom he thought was to help him without complaining.
The conversation that started as a blame went to a big quarrel with Prezzo insulting Goldie of not being appreciative. Prezzo reminded Goldie of all the things he had done and the times he had been there for her but without complaining.
Goldie on the other hand was quiet trying to listen to an angry Prezzo. She later went down , apologised to Prezzo and told him to leave all the mistakes and consider what they share together as lovers but Prezzo was not willing to forgive her.
A crying Goldie was heard saying “So what if I’m evicted tomorrow , the last moment I’ll have in my memory will be you refusing to eat my food?”But this didn’t change Prezzo ‘s mind as he even closed the eyes to stop looking at Goldie.
The two failed to agree with the other and what we finally saw was Goldie leaving Prezzo’s bed while crying as Prezzo pretended to be asleep so as to ignore her.
What could be wrong with these two lovers with just a few hours to the evictions?

Lady Gaga Plastic Surgery

According to plastic surgeons "Lady Gaga definitely had a rhinoplasty. It looks a little pinched, but not bad."
On the other hand, Lady Gaga has insisted that she will never succumb to plastic surgery.

Lady Gaga called cosmetic procedures "harmful" because they promote insecurity.

To be more exact, speaking in the May issue of U.S. "Harper's Bazaar",
Gaga revealed: "I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have. I think promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification."

She continued: "And how many models and actresses do you see on magazine covers who have brand-new faces and have had plastic surgery, while I myself have never had any plastic surgery?"

Lady Gaga recently admitted that she would possibly get cosmetic surgery in the future. In an interview with "Heat Magazine", she claimed that she didn’t have any cosmetic surgery yet, even though there are those who maintain that they have seen differences in her appearance over the years.

The revelation came after being asked if she did have surgery in which Gaga replied, "I haven't had any yet, I was born this way. But maybe after I pop out a few Gaga babies I'll be not born this way any more." Surgery after a pregnancy isn’t out of the norm for many, tummy tucks are a quick fix for loose skin and lasers can help fade stretch marks.

It’s a bit of a shocking testimony since Lady Gaga has spent much time pushing the message to love who you are, even penning the song "Born this Way." She also told "Heat magazine": "I have had my body insecurities, but that's why I wrote "Born This Way", I wanted to create a space that would liberate all of those insecurities. It's an incredibly church-like, religious experience where we exorcise our insecurities."

More previous pictures of singer Lady Gaga emerged recently suggesting that Gaga got some plastic surgery procedures to improve her image before getting to the place of her career she is now. Apparently there are plastic surgeons who strongly beleive that she got breast implants and a rhinoplasty.

There are pictures that show her like a completely different person, but the biggest difference is her nose. In the previous pictures her nose looks much bigger and poorly defined, now it looks with better proportion, but still, is not perfectly defined showing some bump depending on the picture, which makes plastic surgeons wonder:"Why she would go for a rhinoplasty to get the job partially done?"

So, for this one there are different options,. It could be that those older pictures are somehow manipulated, that is not even her, that the photographer was a completely disaster to make her look fine or that she actually got the nose job like that.

According to the stars-plastic-surgery.com, Gaga hasn't got breast implants ,because earlier this year, her breast looks pretty much natural, not too big, not too round, not too upper projected, but with all the signs of natural breast. With her particular sense of style, sometimes she likes to wear corsets and push up bras, so that could explain the change that can be seen sometimes.

Five Things Men Look For In a Wife

By Steven Zangrillo

Listen, it’s not easy for men. We understand that it’s a two-way street, this dating thing. Tried and true, we young professionals hit the bars, clubs, gyms, restaurants and other various hot spots perceived to be breeding ground for potential girlfriends and spouses.
Some of us have even taken the plunge into the e-dating world. We come up empty handed more often than you would think. Maybe that isn’t surprising to you, but it’s routine to us. All too often, the cute girl on the stairmaster ends up being nothing more than just that – a cute girl. You see, we have a natural tendency to judge (harshly), and often build up our own barriers against accepting a woman into our lives past the first few dates. That said, we do have a few important criteria. Below are five things men look for in a wife:

1. Focus
That is, stop looking at your phone when I talk to you. This thing we look for can be displayed with variance in several different ways. When we're describing anything to you, be it an event of the day, idea we have, or anything else, it’s because we care about your opinion on the matter. Your focused feedback on all things is important to us. We’re looking for a life partner, someone to be our go-to when we need it most. Stay focused.

2. Truthfulness
We expect honesty in dialogue. Even the smallest details matter. If you don’t like that dish we ordered for dinner, say so. If you aren’t a fan of the way we floss and sing Blink-182 simultaneously, pipe up. Nip things that bother you by telling the truth about how you feel. The more you sweep things under the rug, the bigger mess you will find yourself cleaning up later. No conversation is worth saving over a white lie.

3. Steadiness
That “Keep Calm And Carry On” catch phrase is a beauty… because it’s rooted in reality. If we’re surveying you as a potential wife, it means we’re taking you seriously. We’re all about you, we love you, and we’re going to spend a lot of time, money and energy making you the happiest person to have ever walked this earth. We are preparing to give ourselves to you. Just as we have to present ourselves as stable, able life mates, you must do the same. If you’ve still yet to sow some of your wild oats, then this relationship isn’t for you. Be here, now, and present. Have your job, family and money in order. Don’t let this commitment go into the deep end if you’re still wearing swimmies.

4. Positivity
Pretty simple, right? No one likes a Debbie Downer, especially one that they’ll be sharing their life and assets with. You will be sharing a bed, bathroom, kitchen, home, family and life together. It would seem that the best way to approach that would be with positivity. Although it’s still important to tell the truth about things that bother you, it’s also important to be… you know… enjoyable. Think of all of your negative friends and family. When you’re planning a night out, you probably hesitate to call them. If you can’t call those people, why would you marry one?

5. Love (NOTHING else)
It always comes back to love, doesn’t it? We look for women to share love with us. Love is the stuff of marriage. If you’re in need of financial help, the government has programs for that. It’s important to be at similar stations in life so you have a reciprocal and positive marriage experience. We want to marry because we’re in love, not because it’s a sound financial decision.

Alek Wek makes her way back home for celebrations

World renowned Sudanese model Alek Wek makes her first trip back to South Sudan this weekend since her family fled civil war back home and sought asylum in the UK.
Wek, who is a supermodel in every right, will pass through Nairobi before heading on to South Sudan, for that country’s first independence anniversary.

Wek has been working as a refugee advocate for the UNHCR, using her influence to help gather momentum for the agency’s work to place and support refugees.
Apart from attending the week-long celebrations, the model will meet with South Sudan’s First Lady, key officials, and several prominent Sudanese who have returned home to rebuild their lives.
Wek will be a special guest at TEDX Juba in the course of the week where she will share her vision on her country’s future, apart from visiting refugee camps in her hometown of Wau.
Last year, South Sudan seceded from Sudan and became the newest republic in the world. Border disputes continue but the civil war has ground to a halt, allowing several hundreds of thousands of refugees to return home.

Naomi Campbell Plastic Surgery

Naomi Campbell is as famous for her temper as she is for her beauty. During the Cannes Film Festival, Naomi returned to the catwalk in support of her pet charity and showed not only her supermodel figure, but some new plastic surgery as well.

According to many celebrity watchers, 41-year old Naomi Campbell strutted her stuff alongside her fellow celebrities and revealed more than a touch of new plastic surgery.

There are also rumors in the past that Naomi has gone under the surgeon's knife for a nose job (rhinoplasty) and possible liposuction procedure, leaving her with a banging body after liposuction.

At Cannes, it looked like Naomi may have been adding a little filler to cheeks and enhancing her face with too much of a good thing.

On her blog, New York plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden claimed: "The model, who turns 41 this week, turned a few heads at the festival (not in a good way). I think that in the attempt to keep up with the modeling world, she overdid it a little and doesn’t look like herself. It just doesn’t look natural. Her full cheeks do make her look like a nicer person though!"

Naomi may not care looking natural, as she has been sporting weaves which have caused her hair loss in the past. At the time, Board certified Manhattan plastic surgeon expert Dr. David Shafer recommended Naomi try Latisse to restore her lost locks around her face.

In detail, in 2005 it appears that Naomi had some sort of rhinoplasty done. The bridge of her nose seems implanted and the shape of her nostrils seems changed as well.

Naomi told "Britain’s Daily Mirror" newspaper: "I don’t see myself as gorgeous and I’m fed up with people saying that I’ve had plastic surgery and liposuction. I don’t need it because "black don’t crack". My grandmother has fantastic genes and only has about one wrinkle. In the past my agencies advised me that I’d never get on the cover of Vogue without having work done but I still managed it. I just like to take care of my body. I don’t drink alcohol and I work out for two hours a day."

Naomi does not even admit she is beautiful or has a great body. She feels she just eats healthy, stays sober, and exercises regularly.

Even recently she stated she vows never to have plastic surgery done unless she was disfigured in an accident. It comes as no surprise that she hates all the rumors saying she had something done to her body because she repeatedly refers to the good genes she is gifted for mainting her body shape. Her mother and grandmother look good for their age. Apparently, even her breasts are real. Kudos for Naomi, who has kept her full lips, symmetrical face, ultra thin frame, nice butt, and long legs the natural way. Naomi has undeniably a great skin, all thanks to being super lucky in the gene pool.

Recently, it doesn’t look like Naomi has spent much time under the knife, except for possible Botox injections, which require very limited plastic surgery recovery and giving her plenty of time to get ready for the runway.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer quoted as saying: "Naomi Campbell, one of the most, or the most famous black super-model at age 41 looks better than ever. Her skin looks as if she was in her twenties. The only two things I can find her guilty for is hair loss and usage of Botox."

It has been rumored that Naomi’s natural beauty is complimented to her dedication to cleanse and trendy workouts like gyrotechnics. It’s more than clear that it works for her.

As for Naomi's nose, it appears today that it has a more defined projection, especially the bridge, compared in the mid 80's when she first took the fashion industry and runway by storm with her sultry look and exotic beauty. However, people should keep in mind that specific makeup techniques may also do the trick.

Some people believe that Naomi may be receiving Botox injection to smoothen out the wrinkles and expression lines, while others insist that she has had cheek implant surgery.

It has to be mentioned that in 2006 Campbell sued a famous cosmetic surgeon after two celebrity magazines published a photo of her suggesting that she was a client of the doctor. But surprisingly, the supermodel has adamantly denied receiving Botox injections, although she stated that using her name without her permission to advertise products was the main reason why she was angry!

On her beauty routine, Campbell says she does steams, facials, and "everything I can to keep my skin elasticated." As on plastic surgeries, she admits that these work "for those who do it for themselves and not to please someone else". The stunning beauty also claims she has no problem whatsoever with getting older. "I don't worry about a number. I'm fine with aging," Naomi told Harper's Bazaar.

There was a strong rumor in 2008 that Naomi had some plastic surgery in Brazil after staying for more than 4 hours in the operating room in a prestigious clinic well known for their plastic surgery procedures, but she denied any plastic surgery but some cyst removal... The rumour goes to claim that she actually got a liposuction then.

The question is: "What plastic surgeon experts beleive about Naomi Campbell's plastic surgery?"

The majority of plastic surgeons can't see a significant difference on her breast as to say that she got breast implants, but on her face besides the difference on her nose someone can observe that she has now more prominent and defined cheek bones suggesting also cheek implants. It is also very common at her age to have botox injections on a regular basis, which is a fast and temporal procedure to eliminate, at least for a while, the wrinkles.

What do you think of Naomi Campbell's plastic surgery?

Is Naomi a natural beauty as she claims or not?

Plastic Surgery in the High Fashion Modeling World

Most plastic surgeons will agree that the general objective of plastic surgery is to improve the aesthetic aspect of a patient. Removing the hump from a nose can make one patient feel less self conscious in photographs, while a slimming another woman’s thighs can make her feel more desirable to her husband. But for some people, plastic surgery becomes more of a business-oriented decision than a personal preference: high-fashion runway models certainly fall into this category. The right tweak could prevent photographic limitations and land a model a contract with a top designer. But then there’s the other side of plastic surgery and high fashion modeling: unique traits are often seen as desirable, and can easily become trademarks (Cindy Crawford’s mole, anyone?).

Meeting the Standards of the Runway

As if the pressures of glossy magazine covers and movie stars aren’t enough for the rest of us, the standards of a high-fashion model are quite high. They’re also a bit different than the average person’s aesthetic ideals: the perfect supermodel is very slender, with minimal curves. She also has a dynamic face that can shift from commercial to androgynous with proper styling. So you probably won’t see these types of models in the plastic surgeon’s office enhancing their figure with breast implants or the increasingly popular Brazilian butt lift.
What you will see high fashion models looking for is liposuction and other body contouring procedures to keep their product—their body—in tip-top shape. If possible, minimally invasive surgeries are the top choice due to their quick recovery period—a procedure like Velashape™ can improve the silhouette and allow a model to get back to work quickly.
Facial surgeries are also common for models. A number of the world’s most famous faces saw their careers take off after undergoing surgery for rhinoplasty, Tyra Banks and Gisele Bündchen included. Chin implants have also provided a boost to many top models, giving them a more defined profile that’s perfect for high fashion photos hoots. Even the slightest tweaks can give models an edge over their competition: fat transfers in the lips for a sexier pout, blepharoplasty under the eyes to remove bags, or fillers to enhance cheekbones. As for simple skin procedures, there’s no way the highest paid models don’t undergo the occasional spa facial or microdermabrasion to keep their skin looking flawless.

Choosing What to Leave Au Natural

Then again, there’s something to be said about models and trademark features. Some of the characteristics of the men and women that were once considered a far cry from classic beauty are now the key to bookings, contracts, and fame. Think about Cintia Dicker’s freckles, Alek Wek’s teeth gap, and Doutzen Kroes’ sumptuous hips. Even in the world of high fashion modeling, total uniformity isn’t always a good thing.
It’s hard to get around the fact that plastic surgery is a different business when it comes to high fashion models. With that being said, no woman should undergo plastic surgery due to the request of a casting director or modeling agency. Plastic surgery is a deeply personal choice that should be made to fulfill your desires and boost your confidence. If you’d like to learn more about any of the plastic surgery procedures mentioned in this article, contact us today. We’ll be happy to book a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area. During your consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with a doctor who can give you more information, answer any questions you may have, and tell you if you’re a possible candidate.
Did Justin Bierber have plastic surgery? Something looks different.
Is it possible that even at the young age of 17, pop star Justin Bieber has already had plastic surgery? In today’s ultra superficial society, of course it is. Thought by many to be “too cute to be real”, rumors have come up that he has had plastic surgery to attain his Teen Beat Cover Boy good looks, but there is no proof as of yet. Looking at him, it looks like he’s had veneers put on his teeth to achieve his all too perfect smile. Furthermore, if I had to imagine, it looks like he may have had his eyelids worked on (blepharoplasty) to make them look so almond shaped, and I will also imagine that he had a nose job, as his seems too flawless and sculpted. So look close folks, and decide, did he have work done to become the ultimate teenager? Or is he just gifted with a face little girls love? Or is he actually a girl? The last one would explain his perfect features, and his voice.
