The end of the “War of the Roses?”

The end of the “War of the Roses?”

The highly publicized divorce between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes has taken a sudden and unexpected turn. Sources are reporting that the matter has been settled. Jonathan Wolfe, Katie Holmes’ lawyer, issued a statement saying, “This case has been settled and the agreement has been signed.” The statement was short and to the point just when the world was ready and poised for a knockdown, drag-out fight between the A-listers. Wolfe further added: “We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.”

It is rumored that according to the terms of the agreement, Tom will have ample custodial time with daughter Suri. As far as Scientology’s involvement in Suri’s life, it states that “Suri isn’t permitted to be exposed to anything Scientology related and this includes going to any Scientology churches, parties etc.” And Tom has agreed to pay an undisclosed sum in property, assets and child support to Katie. A statement released later states, “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests.”

Meanwhile, Tom is back on the set of his new film project, “Oblivion” and Katie is moving on with her own life which involves spending quality time with Suri and working on her own film projects.

It looks like the couple have taken the “high-road” for the sake of their child and have done damage control where necessary.

All we can say is, “case-closed” and we wish them well.
